Absinthe and Deviled Eggs
I haven't been on that much! Not for lack of wanting but more of I sit down to do it and then go "blrrrrhgh".
Tomorrow is Easter and I have been asked to make deviled eggs and hard boiled eggs for dyeing. My sister-in-law knows that I don't cook and has been kind to me. She also knows that I LOVE deviled eggs and will probably make more than enough so I don't feel guilty about eating so many. I really can scarf down those eggs like know ones business given the chance. My Mom even had me come home a couple of days ago to teach me how to make them and I ate the three out of four halves we made. :)
Last night I watched this old black and white French (and subtitled) horror movie called Eyes Without a Face. It was a movie I think an old friend of mine probably would have raved about being a movie fanatic. I enjoyed it but I have to be in the mood to read subtitles at 12am. I watched this movie and drank absinthe. I was feeling very Frenchie.
Oh the absinthe! I got it as a gift from my brother for my birthday after having wanted some for quite a while. The first time I drank it I only got maybe one 8th of the glass down before putting it aside because it was super strong. Not strong in the sense of alcohol fumes coming off the top into my eyes, but strong in the sense that the anise taste was like, "WOW HOTDOG!" as my niece would say. So last night I cut the amount of absinthe in half (pansy!) and actually prepared it properly instead of messing everything up like I did the first time.
I feel a little connection with Marylin Manson and I'm not sure if I like that. lol For those who don't know what absinthe is, PLEASE look up on its history. It's quite an amazing little drink and many famous people drank it back in the heyday of the French Revolution. It's the drink at the beginning of Moulin Rouge with the green fairy. However it does not make you that happy-esk as portrayed in the movie. Freakin Hollywood is ALWAYS lying, the bastards.
Okay this is the most inane post of nothing I have done in a bit. Shall I talk about the crackers sitting on my desk or the wonderful cheese I got from Whole Foods the other day?
Also...I have obtained three albums of a band called Sneaker Pimps and I wanted to share with you some of the awesomeness. Some of you may remember them from the song Underground 6 which has been featured in a LOT of movies and their soundtracks, but here is a new song I have been digging. Enjoy!
